Albert “Jerry” King, Jr.

Mr. Albert "Jerry" King, Jr., age 69, of Lake City, Florida passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Jerry was born on December 2, 1953 in Lake City, Florida to Albert J. King, Sr. and Mildred Hurst King. Jerry graduated from Columbia High School in 1971 and then Lake City Junior College (now Gateway College) with an A.A. degree in business. He worked in the financial collection business in Lake City, Florida, West Palm Beach, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia before moving back to Lake City in 1995. He retired early due to health issues. He then lived with and cared for his mother after his father's passing in 2009. He attended the Lake City Church of God. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Albert J. King, Sr. and his brother and sister-in law, Ronnie and Susie King. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Hurst King, his sister, Janet (Mark) Tuttle and his brother, Dale (Tina) King all of Lake City, Florida; nieces and nephews, Kelli Poore, Kerri (Chris) Couture, Dale (Tara) King, Jr., Ashley (Kevin) Kennington, Holly (Chris) Tomlinson, Nick Tuttle and Megan Tuttle; 17 great-nieces and nephews along with several special aunts and cousins also survive. A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. King will be held at 11 A. M. Saturday, July 22, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Thomas, Pastor of the Lake City Church of God, officiating and assisted by Rev. Dennis McMillan, associate pastor. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (one hour before services). In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the Lake City Church of God in memory of Mr. King. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
