Lake City

Allen Eugene Bell, of Lake City, Florida, slipped off quietly to his eternal home in the wee hours of the morning on July 21, 2026. Daddy was the 13th of 14 children born to Kizzie Mae Pravatt and Wilber Bell. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, his best friend and faithful caretaker, Katherine Bell, also of Lake City; his son, Dwayne Harris (Rayna); and his baby, “Buggs,” Marlana Morgan (Richard). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Fender (Mike). He was a wonderful father who cherished his children and was so proud of them, but the true joy of his life was his grandchildren: Austin (Paris), Abigail (Bryan), Leo , Cody (Makayla), Lukien, Tyler, Corey, and Tanner. He was also blessed with his great-grandchildren: Waylon, Giovanni, Vincent, and Carmella. Daddy was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back—and if you still needed another one, he’d probably rip his brother’s off to give to you too. He could fix anything that was broken, build anything that needed building, and somehow mend every broken part of your life. He was the light of every room. He walked in with a sparkle of mischief in his eye, and you could bet your bottom dollar he had a spoon in his back pocket, ready to stir the pot if he needed to. He never met a stranger. His hands were as big as his heart, and he represented the kind of love a husband and father should carry for his family. Above all of these things, Daddy was the “Bionic Man.” He survived 30 years with congestive heart failure. During that time, he endured seven major heart attacks, open-heart surgery, countless hospitalizations, and pneumonia that nearly took his life. Yet every single time, he fought harder and proved he was tougher than anyone we knew. He was truly a medical marvel, but we know it wasn’t by chance. It was by the grace of the Lord and the power of a praying wife. Time and time again, God gave us more moments, more memories, and more years with the man we loved so dearly. There are some people who pass through this world, and then there are people like Daddy who leave fingerprints on every life they touch. If you knew him, you have a story. You probably have a memory that still makes you laugh, something he fixed for you, a joke he told you, or a time when he showed up exactly when you needed him most. Daddy loved with everything he had. He wasn’t perfect, but he was genuine. If he loved you, you knew it. He wasn’t afraid to work hard, lend a helping hand, or sacrifice for the people he loved. He taught us that family isn’t just something you have; it’s something you keep through forgiveness, through hardships, and through wisdom. One of the greatest love stories we’ve ever witnessed was the one between Daddy and Momma. She wasn’t just his wife; she was his best friend, his greatest encourager, and his faithful caretaker. Through every hospital stay, every doctor’s appointment, every setback, and every victory, she never left his side. Their love was tested by sickness more times than most people could imagine, but it only grew stronger. Daddy fought because he wanted to live, but he also fought because he knew he was cherished so dearly. While our hearts are broken into pieces today, we don’t grieve without hope. We know where Daddy is. His heart, which carried him through so many battles, is finally whole. His body, which endured so much pain, has been made new. The man who spent so many years fighting to breathe is now breathing Heaven’s fresh air. I can only imagine the beauty that took place when he stepped into eternity. The shackles were gone, the pain was no more, and the Lord he loved welcomed him home with the words every child of God longs to hear: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Daddy, thank you for teaching us what strength looks like. Thank you for making us laugh, for protecting us, for believing in us, and for loving us so fiercely. Thank you for every sacrifice no one else saw and every lesson you taught without ever saying a word. We’ll miss your silliness. We’ll miss your stories. We’ll miss your stubbornness, your jokes, and even that spoon in your back pocket. We’ll miss your hugs and the way you could make everything seem okay with just your presence. But this isn’t goodbye. It’s simply, “We’ll see you in the morning.” Until then, we’ll carry your love, your laughter, and your legacy. It will live on through your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. For we know that when this earthly journey was finished, Daddy was absent from the body and present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8) We love you, Daddy. Always have. Always will. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00am, Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home, 2659 SW Main Blvd, Lake City with Reverend Lance Crews officiating.
