Allene Griffis

Ms. Allene Griffis, age 90 of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away Monday, August 13th in the Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center, Macclenny, Florida. Ms. Griffis was born in Sanderson, Florida and was a lifelong resident of Baker County, Florida. She was a homemaker who loved her family, enjoyed her pets, flowers, and growing a garden. Ms. Griffis is preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Griffis, and her siblings, Lillie Brannan, Lucious Harvey, Leila Prevatt, Mazie Prevatt, Julian Harvey, J.C. Harvey, L.E. Harvey, Grover C. Harvey, Fairley Rhoden and Allan “Pete” Harvey. She is survived by one son, Jimmy (JoAnn) Griffis of Glen St. Mary, Florida and one daughter, Libby (Randy) Carter of Macclenny, Florida. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Griffis will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, August 15 in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Florida with Bishop Joseph Heath, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, officiating.
