Mrs. Amelia Ann Phillips, age 58, of Sanderson, Fla. died Wednesday, March 19, in the Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, Fla. following a long illness. She was born in Cleveland, Mississippi and lived in Macclenny, Fla. before moving to Sanderson, Fla. in 1991. She worked as a secretary with the V.A. Medical Center, Lake City, Fla. for over 10 years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny, Fla. and attended Georgia Southern College, Statesboro, Ga. and Lake City Community College. She loved painting outdoor scenes and fishing. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Mae Millwood Ashford. She is survived by her husband, James Curtis Phillips, Sr. of Sanderson, Fla.: Her son, Joshua Eric Bryan (Cassi Canaday) of Sanderson, Fla.: Her father, Elton Eugene Ashford, Sr. of Warner Robbins, Ga.: Two step-children, James Curtis Phillips, Jr. (Kim Miller) of Sanderson, Fla. and Hillary Ann Phillips (Christopher Berry) of Jacksonville, Fla.: Two grandchildren , Aiden Walker Bryan and Canaan Jase Bryan: One sister, Sharon Lea (Bill) Bowman of Atlanta, Ga.: One brother, Elton Eugene (Catherine) Ashford, Jr. of Alpharetta, Ga. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, March 22, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Dr. Edsel Bone, Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
