Anita Faye Napier

Mrs. Anita Faye Napier, a forty-two-year resident of Lake City, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at the age of 91. Mrs. Napier was one of fourteen children born in Hyden, Kentucky to the late Pearl and Leona Morgan Smith. To help support her family, she began working at a young age and was employed by Whitings Linen Manufacturing Company for twenty years. Always active and busy, her work ethic carried over into tending to her home, preparing excellent homecooked meals, caring for her children and eventually her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Napier loved listening to gospel music, reading her bible and attending church at Fellowship Baptist Church where she was a member. She will be remembered as a “one-of-a-kind” woman and will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her children: Charlie Napier, Ernie Napier, and Elaine (Jim) Phelps, all of Lake City; grandchildren: James (Theresa) Phelps, Justin (Lisa) Phelps, Chuck Napier, Jason Napier, Angela Napier, and Steven (Tiffany) Napier; great grandchildren: Gracie Phelps, Jameson Phelps, Lanie Phelps, Sienna Phelps, Landon Blair, Ian Napier, Kirsten Napier, Zach Napier, Mason Napier, Kaylee Hannah Napier, and Scarlett Napier; brother: Ernest (Ann) Smith of London, KY; and sisters: Shirley Simpson of Hazard, KY and Idella (Glen) Hubbard of Williamsburg, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bonnell Napier and beloved son: Henry L. Napier. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Monday, July 21, 2025, in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Phelps officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, Lake City.
