Mrs. Anna Marie (Ellis) McDonald, age 78 of Lake City, Florida passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026. She was born in New Castle, Indiana and made her home in Lake City for many years. She was the widow of the late Lloyd Douglas McDonald and the daughter of the late Richard Rolland and Betty Anna (Teegarden) Ellis. Mrs. McDonald was an energetic lady and worked most of her life as a customer service representative. She was a graduate of Blue Valley High School, Lake City Community College, Children’s Literature Institute and Hollywood Scriptwriting School. She was the producer and director of the Youth Community Theatre in Lake City for eighteen years. She started the Writers’ Group at the Lake City Public Library and worked at Walmart, Morrell’s, Kirby’s and at New Life Christian Fellowship Church. She loved quilting, sewing, anything theater related, and was a published author. Mrs. McDonald is survived by two daughters: Angela (James) Reeves of O’Brien, Florida and Beth (Andy) Miles of Lake City, Florida; grandchildren: Darian Reeves, Cody Reeves, Jenna Newton, Destiny Price, Justice McDonald, and Ashton Miles; great grandchildren: Bentley Corbitt, Waylan Newton, Dominick Allen and Angelina Allen; and siblings: Kathy McKillip, Carolyn Begley, Sandra Wray, James R. Ellis and Mike Ellis all of Indiana. Funeral services to honor her life will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, July 29, 2026 in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home with Mr. Jerry Jones officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm, Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at the funeral home. Guerry Forbes Funeral Home of Lake City, 2659 SW Main Blvd, Lake City is honored to serve the McDonald Family.
