Mrs. Anne Marie Reynolds, age 80, of Macclenny, Florida passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, in the Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospice, Jacksonville, Florida following a long illness. Mrs. Reynolds was born in Covington, Virginia and resided in Moniac, Georgia for over 40 years before moving to Macclenny, Florida nine years ago. She was a homemaker and member of the Moniac Baptist Church and enjoyed knitting, playing cards and going to yard sales. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Freddie Morris Reynolds, Sr., two children, Mary Jane Whitener and Patrick Whitener, her parents, Willie E. and Alma Mae King Layberger and her sister, Joyce Huffman. She is survived by her daughter, Elsie Mae Messenger of Davis, West Virginia; her son, Charles E. Whitener of Macclenny, Florida; three step-children, Morris Reynolds of Moniac, Georgia, Milton Reynolds of Jacksonville, Florida and Lynn (Terry) Linder of Ocala, Florida; one sister, Karen (Jim) Bailey of Baxley, Georgia; two brothers, Don Layberger of Jacksonville, Florida and Bill Layberger of Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Kristi, Brandon, Kyle, Jamie, Amber, Christina, Trace, Candace, Joey, Josh, Jonathan and Jennifer; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren , numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Reynolds will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, Aug. 27, in the Moniac Baptist Church, Moniac, Georgia with Rev. Matt Rouse, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Canaday Cemetery, Moniac, Georgia. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, Aug. 26, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida.
