Arthur Lamar Starling

Mr. Arthur Lamar Starling, age 65, of Lake City, Florida passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Mr. Starling lived in Lake City all of his life. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1974 and enlisted and served in the U.S. Army for 17 years and retired as Sgt. First Class. He then worked for the Veterans Administration in Lake City, Tallahassee, Jacksonville and Gainesville, Florida at the outpatient clinics as a SPD supervisor until his retirement.  Arthur loved NASCAR races, watching old westerns, fishing and local dirt track racing.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Ford Starling and parents, Ovie and Doris Burnsed Starling. He is survived by three sons, Phillip (Angela) Starling, Joshua Starling and Robby Starling all of Lake City, Florida: three sisters, Linda Harris, JoAnn Murray (John Alfred) and Teresa (Wayne) Williams all of Lake City, Fla.; three brothers, Johnnie (Midge) Starling, Larry (Ruth) Starling and Joseph (Donna) Starling all of Lake City, Fla.; his companion, Sharon Nettles and her children, Sean Stalvey and Heather Register; two grandchildren, Joleen Starling and Shirley Starling and many neices and nephews also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Starling will be held at 2 P.M. Monday in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Starling,  Pastor of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla., officiating. Interment will be in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, Suwannee County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday (one hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
