Mr. Arthur Vincent Thompson, Sr., age 67, of St. George, Ga. died Thursday, Sept. 26, in the Macclenny Nursing & Rehab Center, Macclenny, Fla. following a long ilness. He was born in Yokohama, Japan and lived in Jacksonville and Delray Beach, Fla. before moving to St. George, Ga. in 2003. He worked as an electrical engineer with the Siemens Corp. in Boca Raton, Fla. for twenty-four years until his retirement in 2002. He was a graduate of Ribault High School class of 1965 and attended Jacksonville University. He was of the Catholic faith, a former Scout Master of the Boy Scounts of America, a member of the Moose Lodge of Macclenny, fla. and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Jannett Thompson of St. George, Ga.: Two sons, Arthur V. Thompson, Jr. of St. George, Ga. and Mark Patrick Thompson of Delray beach, Fla.: One brother, Raymond G. (Jo) Thompson of Palataka, Fla.: Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the Chapel l Hills Memory Gardens, Jacksonville, Fla. A visitation and gathering of friends will held one hour before services at the gravesite.
