Mrs. Barbara Mell Stack, 71 of Macclenny, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was born in Morgan, Georgia to the late Jim Boydale and Claudia Mell Conley Hartley and moved to Macclenny in 1987 from Jacksonville. Mrs. Stack retired from Beneficial Finance Company after 42 years of employment having worked the majority of those years in Jacksonville as well as managing some locations in Georgia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny where she was very active in the Feminars and numerous positions. When able she enjoyed being in the sunshine, traveling and art. Mrs. Stack was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, William “Sonny” Stack, Sr. in 2000.
Survivors include her daughter, Renee’ Robbins, Macclenny; her son, William “Clay” Stack, Jr (Sonya), Starke; her sister in law, Barbara Hartley Davenport (Jim), Cumming, GA; nine grandchildren, Nikki King, Tristan Robbins, Heather Robbins, Courtney, Taylor, Tucker, Trey and Jack Stack and Jason Williams; one great grandchild, Jaiden Rice also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Macclenny with Dr. Edsel Bone, pastor officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM, Friday, at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Valdosta, Georgia. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, from 6-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
