Bertha Mae Harris, 102, after a brief illness left this earthly existence for a more abundant life in eternity on Thursday, December 11, 2014, about 7 weeks shy of her 103rd birthday. She was preceded in death by husband, Isaiah Harris, daughter, Della Jones, and son, Hugh "Shot" Harris. She is survived by her children: Genevieve Ervolino, Barbara Gazdick,Tommy (Bonnie) Harris, Renee Johnson, Ann (Tommy) Hunter, and Carol (Leon) Douglass as well as 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 25 great great grandchildren, 1 great great great grandchild, and a host of beloved friends. The family will receive guests Sunday evening from 5-7 pm at Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny, FL. Funeral services will be Monday, 11 am at Raiford Road Church with internment to follow at North Prong Cemetery. The care she received from Hospice in the last two and a half years was exemplary, and we wish to honor that so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida (www.communityhospice.com).
