Betty Lyvonne Abdulla

Betty Thrift Abdulla, 83, of Macclenny, Florida passed away to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Orange Park Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on July 2, 1938, to the late Lonnie and Beatrice (Stokes) Thrift in Mociac, Georgia. She was a graduate of the 1956 class of Baker County High School. This was the first class of BCHS after consolidation. Betty was a secretary at Independent Life Ins. Co. in Jacksonville, Florida until her retirement. She was a previous longtime member of the Macclenny Church of Christ and current member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny.

Her sweet, caring demeanor and her spirit for life showed how beautiful she was both inside and out. She loved to laugh and always has a beautiful, sweet smile. Betty was a truly devoted woman of faith as well as an exceptional wife, mother, sister and aunt. Her favorite times were dinners with her family and sharing stories with them through good food and good humor. She enjoyed cruising and dancing with her husband Frank.

Betty is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 18 years Frank Abdulla; son, Jeffrey W. Piatt of Nashville, Tn; grandson, Colton Piatt of Knoxville, TN; two stepsons, Skip Abdulla of Columbia, SC and Lane Abdulla of Knoxville, TN; brother, Michael Thrift of Jackosnville, FL; sister, Janice Hancock of Maccleny, FL; special nephews, Britt Hancock of Crossville, TN and Klate Hancock of Maccleny, FL; great nieces, Taylor and Hailey Hancock; great nephew, Chase Hancock.

The funeral service to honor the life of Betty will be held on Sunday, February 20, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Ellison officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be one hour prior from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.
