Betty Burnsed

Betty Crawford Burnsed, aged 89, of Lake City, FL passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Gainesville, FL. Betty was born in the Taylor community of Baker County, FL on June 10, 1934 to Ardell R. Crawford and Nancy Bennett Crawford. She resided in Macclenny, FL before moving to Jacksonville, FL, where she and her husband Millage Burnsed raised their children. She was a loving mother and homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a long time member of Macclenny Primative Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking for the many Sunday dinners there. She was proud to be from a sharecropper’s family from Baker County, FL. She is survived by her two sons, Millage Gregory Burnsed (Gaye) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Calvin Keith Burnsed (Sandy) of Lake City, FL, one brother, Bobby Crawford (Bernice) of Glen St. Mary, FL, her son-in-law, John Salsbury of Glen St. Mary, FL, seven grandchildren, Kate Munkittrick (Andy), Matthew Burnsed (Colleen), Joseph Burnsed (Tessa), all, of St. Petersburg, FL, Magdalene (Maggie) Wilber (Edan), of Austin, TX, Adria Youngblood (Matt) of St. Augustine, FL, Amber Mason (Jeremy) of Glen St. Mary, FL, Sarah Steman (Justin) of Winter Springs, FL, eleven great-grandchildren, Eve and Helen Munkittrick, Joel, Milo, Adam and Amelia Burnsed, Aiden Youngblood, Jonathan Mason, Tiffany Hayes, James Salsbury, and Betty Burnsed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years Millage Burnsed, her daughter, Nancy Rebecca (Becky) Salsbury, and seven brothers and sisters, Auzzie Crawford, Bonnie Macdowell, Mary Lou Burnsed, Ruby Allen, Amos Crawford, George Dwain Crawford and Janice Crawford. The family will have visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, with the funeral immediately following at 11:00 a.m., at Macclenny Primative Baptist Church, located at 94 North Blvd. E., Macclenny, FL, 32063, with Elder David Crawford, Pastor, officiating.
