Betty Sue Goodwin

Betty Sue Goodwin, 84, a resident of Lake City, Florida passed away October 5, 2011 at the Beaches Baptist Medical Center.
Mrs. Goodwin was a resident of Lake City for the past twenty-five years and is the daughter of the late E. V. and Jewel Shaw Green. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty nine years, James H. Goodwin. Mrs. Goodwin and her husband were house parents at the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch for ten years and also was a volunteer for the Lake City Medical Center Gift Shop for many years. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and she made Christmas Stockings to give away for everyone she met. Mrs. Goodwin loved to help people and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
Survivors include One Daughter, Carol (Jim), Blackmon, One Son, Eric (Debbie) Goodwin all of Jacksonville. One Brother, James Green, Birmingham, Ala. Three Grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Smith, Kara (Joe) Permuy and Whitney ( Patrick) Hannah. Three great grandchildren, Jordan Smith, L. J. Permuy and Griffin Permuy.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday October 8, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 just prior to the service at the funeral home. Guerry Funeral Home 2659 SW. Main Blvd. Lake City is in charge of arrangements.
