Betty J. Mcgarrity

Mrs. Betty J. McGarrity, age 83 of Macclenny, FL passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, July 31. Mrs. McGarrity was born in Nahunta, GA and lived several years in Jacksonville, FL before moving to Baker County, FL over 40 years ago. She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. McGarrity attended the First Baptist Church of Macclenny, enjoyed sewing, working in her yard and traveling. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Jewell Highsmith Herrin, her late husband, Robert F. McGarrity and grandson, Robert Colston, Jr. Mrs. McGarrity is survived by her three daughters: Joan Young (Don) of Glen St. Mary, FL, Shirley Doyle (Gerry) and Toni Bunch (Ward) both of Macclenny, FL: four grandchildren, Sean Kelly (Val) of Jacksonville, FL, Kenny Colston (Suzanne) of Orange Park, FL, Madison and Gabrielle Bunch, both of Macclenny, FL. Seven great grandchildren, Kira, Grant, Brielle, Edward, K.J., Arya and Eva, also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. McGarrity will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, August 2 in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M., Friday, August 2 (one hour before services). Interment for Mrs. McGarrity will follow the funeral services in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, FL. Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 E., Macclenny, FL, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
