Betty June Rose Thomas

Mrs. Betty June Rose Thomas, age 87 of Macclenny, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville.  She was born in Gainesville, Florida and was the oldest of three children to the late Paul and Faye Brannon Rose.  Mrs. Thomas had lived in Macclenny since 1978 having moved from Gainesville.  She was a member of the Christian Fellowship Temple and the Baker County Historical Society.  Mrs. Thomas enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, making floral arrangements and spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Rose in 1996, one sister, Loree Byrd in 2012 and her son in law, Stonewall C. Rain in 1986.

Survivors include her daughter, Martha F. Rain, Sanderson; three grandchildren, Randy Rain and Lynn Clark (Kenny) all of Sanderson and Dodie Ryder (Danny), Lake City; seven great grandchildren, Michael Mann, Ashley Sutton, Jenny Cahoon, Callie Egan, Lauren Ryder, Lauren Rain and Amanda Ryder; and six great-great grandchildren, Jaidan Mann, Mason Egan, JJ Miller, Peyton Miller, Ivy Cahoon and Brayden Egan also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. David Thomas, Pastor of Christian Fellowship Temple officiating.  Interment will follow at Manntown Cemetery in Glen St. Mary.  Visitation with the family will be Friday from 1-2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
