Candace Lee Harrell

March 8, 1926 — January 26, 2015

Mrs. Candace Lee  Wyatt Harrell, age 88,  a long time resident of Macclenny, Florida  passed away January 26, 2015 in Panama City Beach, Florida.  She was  a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, born on March 8, 1926.  She served as secretary of the First United Methodist Church of Macclenny, Fla., a former secretary-bookkeeper at Baker County High School and as payroll-bookkeeper for the Baker County School Board.  She had been active in the Junior Women’s Club, a soprano in the Methodist church choir,  a singer for many weddings, the Baker County 4-H club and supported various activities providing assistance to children.  She loved children tremendously and was like a “second mother”  to many kids.  She enjoyed music, flowers and sports, often following the  GATORS around  the SEC  with close friends.  Her recent years found her making new  friends who affectionately came to call her “Aunt Candy”.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Luther Harrell, infant daughter Candace Louise Harrell, her sister, Dorothy Anne Wyatt and parents, Jesse H. and Candace Letitia Lee Wyatt.  She is survived by two sons, Richard Lee Harrell of Panama City, Florida and Andrew Luther (Marilyn) Harrell of Paducah, Kentucky:  Her sister, Grace Wheeler of Gaithersburg, Maryland:  former daughter-in-law, Debbie Harrell of Panama City Beach, Florida:  Grandchildren, Todd (Carly) , Scott (Alison), Alex (Melissa) and Andrea:  seven great- grandchildren, Madeline, Miriam, Caden, Ensley, Wade, Brody and Jack.  Her family greatly appreciates the support and care by ResCare and Emerald Coast Hospice, with special thanks to Elizabeth Grace for her kindness, love and care for our “Mum”.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday,  Jan. 31, in the First United Methodist Church, Macclenny, Fla. with Rev.  Don Thompson, Pastor, officiating.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Florida.  Visitation with the family will be from 12 to 1 P.M.  Saturday (One hour before services)  at the church. GUERRY FUNERAL  HOME, 420 E Macclenny Avenue, U.S. Highway 90, Macclenny, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
