Carol Ann Freitas

Carol passed away peacefully at the age of 86 in Suwannee Valley Nursing Care Center in Jasper, FL after an extended illness on Sunday, Aug 30, 2026. Carol was a strong, independent woman who was raised by her mother, Alice Beauchamp in Reading, MA. She worked for many years in at Raytheon in Andover, MA as a tool crib attendant. Although nearing retirement age, she then pivoted to a career in medical records at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. She loved experiencing the joy of growing families in her position of collecting and processing birth certificate information. Carol enjoyed her colleagues, family and her cats, reading Stephen King books, and decorating her home. She loved deeply and will be missed by many, including children Charles Crosby of Hyannis, MA, Anneliese (Mark) Newsome of Lake City, FL and grandchildren, Dayton DeFoe, Jr. of Raymond, NH, Dillon (Fran) Crosby of Coral Springs, FL, Ethan Crosby of North Attleboro, MA, and Charles Crosby in Massachusetts as well as three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also predeceased by her beloved sister, Marion Vera (Beauchamp) Tousignant and niece, Laura (Johnson) Selby.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home of Lake City.
