Carolyn Swindell

Mrs. Carolyn Swindell, age 66, of Macclenny, FL passed away Tuesday, November 12 in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, FL following a brief illness. Mrs. Swindell was born in Lake Butler, FL and lived in Raiford, FL for many years before moving to Baker County, FL in 1972. Mrs. Swindell was a homemaker and a member of the Road to Calvary Church, Glen St. Mary, FL. She was a loving mother and a devoted grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Swindell is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Geneva Dees Finley, her late husband, Raymond Swindell, three sisters, Geneva, Wanda and Willa Mae Finley, and one brother, William “Buck” Finley. She is survived by four sons, Michael (Kelly) Swindell of Glen St. Mary, FL, James (Tommie Sue) Swindell of Glen St. Mary, FL, Josh (Cheryl) Swindell of Baxter, FL, Marcus (Sidnie) Swindell of Macclenny, FL: one daughter, Rebecca Swindell of Macclenny, FL: two brothers, Anthony (Betty) Finley and Eugene (Lannie) Finley both of Lake Butler, FL: three sisters, DeLoris Griffis of Yulee, FL, Charolette (Scott) Henderson and Doris Ellixson, both of Lake Butler, FL. Seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Swindell will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, November 15 in the Road to Calvary Church, Glen St. Mary, FL with Rev. Tommy Anderson, Pastor, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, November 14 at Guerry Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the funeral services in Taylor Cemetery.
