Cassie Green

Mrs. Cassie Davis Green, age 91, of Lake City, Florida died Sunday, Aug. 6, at her home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Green was born in Taylor, Florida and lived in Olustee, Florida before moving to Lake City, Florida in 1952.  She taught school in Sanderson, Florida before becoming a beautician in Lake City for over 40 years.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS Price Creek Ward, Lake City, Florida. She married Acy Green on Sept. 14, 1945 and at his death had been married for 65 years. She was also preceded in death by a son, Harry Stanton Green and her parents, William Walter and Annie Mae Thompson Davis of Baker County.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kathy Ann Daugherty  and Judy Odom both of Lake City, Florida and Connie (Lamar) Moseley of Ft. White, Florida:  One sister, Mildred Lois White of Jacksonville, Florida: One brother, Melvin John Davis of Glen St. Mary, Florida.  Nine grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.  A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Green will be held at 3 P.M. Friday, Aug. 11, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with  Mr. Brent Whitney of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS officiating.  Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery, Lake City, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 1 to 3 P.M. Friday (2 hours before service time).  GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S. W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
