Ms. Catherine Jean Hurst, age 85, of Ocala, Fl. passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Brooksdale Paddock Hills Assisted Living Faciltity, Ocala, Fl. following an extended illness. Ms. Hurst was a long time resident of Baker County, Fl. and moved to Ocala, Fl. 12 years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny, Fl. where she played the organ for many years and was the Assistant Vice-President of Citizen’s Bank for over thirty years. She retired from that position in 1994. She is preceded in death by her late husband, James Wayne Hurst, one son, Steven Hurst, and her parents, Irvin Lee and Oris Allene Lewis. She is survived by two sons, David (Jodi) Hurst of Ocala, Fl. and Mike Hurst of Jacksonville, Fl.: Two brothers, Tom Lewis of Dunnellon, Fl. and Bennett Lewis of Waycross, Georgia. Two grandchildren, Amber N. and Andrew D. Hurst also survive. A remembrance service to honor the life of Ms. Hurst will be held at 3 P.M., Sunday, November 22, in the First Baptist Church of Macclenny, Macclenny, Fl. with Dr. Edsel Bone, pastor, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 2 to 3 P.M., Sunday (one hour before services). Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Fl.
