Charles Monroe Metcalf Jr.

Mr. Charles Monroe Metcalf Jr., age 87 of Lake City, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina and was a resident of Homestead, Florida before moving to Lake City in 1993. He worked as a carpenter with Local Union #1250 in Homestead and then Local Union #125 in Miami for over 27 years. He loved serving the Lord and was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Lake City and was an ordained minister thru the Southern Baptist Association. As a veteran of the United States Air Force, Mr. Metcalf enjoyed all types of aviation. He also enjoyed going fishing. Mr. Metcalf was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jean, whom he lovingly referred to as his "lifelong girlfriend" from the day he married her and also by his sister, Helen Metcalf Crimms. He is survived by his daughter: Bernice (John) Janki and son: Charles M. (Adrienne) Metcalf III, both of Lake City and grandchildren: John C. Janki, Charles M. (Alicia) Metcalf IV, and Karlie (Gabriel) King. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date in the Welcome Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Lance Crews officiating.
