Charlotte Ann Markham

January 2, 1941 — October 19, 2015

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Markham, age 74, of Lake City, Florida died Monday, Oct. 19, in the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida following a sudden illness.  Mrs. Markham was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and lived most of her life in Lake City, Fla.  She was a former business owner (G & H Food Store, Macclenny, Fla.) and then retired to be a proud grandmother of two.  She was a graduate of Mason City High School Class of 1958 and a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William Jeff and Madelle Witt Buckley, Sr.  She enjoyed shopping, growing plants and roses and her cats.  She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert W. Markham of Lake City, Florida:  Her daughter, Anita Markham Byrd of Longwood, Florida:  Her two grandchildren, Matthew Byrd and Alexis Marie Byrd:  Her sister, Valerie Robinson of Lake City, Fla.:  her brother, Bill (Bobbie) Buckley of Gainesville, Fla.:  Two nephews and three nieces also survive.  A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Markham will be held at 3 P.M., Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Joy Bolander officiating and assisted by Deacon Patrick Lee.  Interment will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Columbia County, Florida.  Visitation and gathering with the family will be held from 2 to 3 P.M., Thursday (One hour before services) at the church.  Please consider memorials to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 182 S.E.
