Clara Mae Jones

Mrs. Clara Mae Jones, age 77, of Lake City, Florida died Wednesday, Dec. 16, in the Suwanne Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following a long illness.  Mr. Jones had resided in Lake City, Florida all of her life.  She retired from J.C. Penny Company of Lake City in 1999 after almost 20 years of service. She attended the Bethlehem  Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and staying in the North Carolina mountains.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray Tillman and Willa Mae Douglas Richards and her son,  Adron Lamar Jones.  She is survived by her husband, Adron C. Jones of Lake City, Fla.: her daughter, Dauty (David) Riggs of Lake City, Florida:  One sister,  Lottie Nell O’Steen of Lake City, Fla.:  four brothers,  Tillman Richards of Lake Butler, Florida, Freddie Richards of Eustis, Florida,  George Tillman and Dale Tillman both of Lake City, Florida. The family has requested in lieu flowers donations can be made to Haven Hoapice in Lake City. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Jones will be held at 12 P.M. Saturday, Dec.  19, in the Chapel of  GUERRY FUNERAL HOME  with Rev. Lowell O’Steen, Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, officiating.  Final disposition will be by cremation. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M.
