Clayton J Hardy

Mr. Clayton J. Hardy 84 of Lake City passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home following a fall during a hunting trip.  A native of Milton, Florida, Mr. Hardy resided in Lake City for the last 60 years. Mr. Hardy was the son of Jewell and Dora Hardy. In His spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and all other outdoor activities.  He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union and the Masonic Lodge #27. He was of the Southern Baptist faith and a devoted family man. At times he answered to the call of #22 on the CB in the Black Still Hunting Club or to the “Coon Man”, or even just “Pop”. Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Beulah Ann Hardy, and son Johnny Earl Nash.  Mr. Hardy is survived by three sons: Danny Hardy (Donna), Robert Nash (Darlene), and Dewayne Nash (Lisa) all of Lake City, two daughters: Becky Mckee and Carmen Brewer (Dave), all of Milton, FL, and a special friend Anna Barfield. Mr. Hardy also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, all whom he loved very much and was greatly proud of. He had many nieces and nephews and two deeply beloved friends Dennis Towns and Mark Nelson, and many others that were like family. When you met him, you became a part of his family. He loved with all his heart. Clayton Hardy lived life to its fullest with NO regrets. He will be deeply missed but he is already up there finding a new mullet hole to fish and a new tree to climb. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday, January 10, 2025, in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Deacon Jason Hudson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the funeral home.
