Mr. Clyde Wayne Carey, age 75, of Glen St. Mary, Florida died Monday, Sept. 1, in the Acosta-Rau Center for Caring, Jacksonville, Fla. following an extended illness. He was born in Navasota, Texas and lived in Rhode Island before moving to Baker County in 1974. He served with the U.S. Navy for 20 years and retired in 1976 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He then started and owned Cary Mobile Home Sales and C & C Motor Sales of Macclenny, Fla. for over 24 years until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny, Fla. and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas David and Minnie Mae German Cary and his son, Curtis Cary. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Cushman Carey of Glen St. Mary, Fla.: Two sons, David Carey of Glen St. Mary, Fla. and Michael Carey of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.: His step-son, Wendell (Ruthia) Crews of Glen St. Mary, Fla.: Three sisters, Ruby Joy of Roosevelt, Texas, Juanita Jones and Mary Martin both of Bryan, Texas: One brother, Lonnie Carey of Bryan, Texas: Four grandchildren, Adam Carey, Cody Crews, Christy Crews and Amanda Gonzales: Two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, Sept. 5, in the First Baptist Church, Macclenny, Fla. with Rev. Tim Thomas, Pastor of Christian Fellowship Temple, officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 2 P.M. Friday in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Fla. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday (one hour before services) at the church. Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Fla. in in charge of arrangements.
