Clyde Downing, 76, a resident of Lake City, Florida passed away January 8, 2012 at the Suwannee Health Care Center, Live Oak, Florida.
Mr. Downing was a lifelong resident of Lake City, Florida and is the son of the late Caulie and Georgia Spells Downing. He was a farmer for all of his life. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Linda K. Hutchinson and was a member of the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, Wellborn, Florida.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years: Shirley Downing, Lake City, Fl. Three daughters: Barbara (Gary) Garner, Lake City, Fl., Mary (Bruce) Williams, Mayo, Fl. and Joyce Poulnot, Ochlocknee, Ga. One Son: Mitchell (Ellen) Downing, Lake City, Fl. Three sisters: Virginia Deal, Largo, Fl., Lois Walker, Luraville, Fl. and Sarah Hildebrandt, Michigan. Seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Downing will be conducted Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Cannon, officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday January 10, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Guerry Funeral Home 2659 SW.
