Conrad Charles (Chuck) Hanna, a resident of Lake City Florida, died early Monday morning, July 22, 2024, at Haven Hospice Care. Mr. Hanna was born in Patterson, NJ, in 1932. He joined the Air Force during the Korean War and served in the Cuban Missile Crisis at deployed radar sites in Alabama. While deployed in Alabama, he met his wife of 68 years, Barbara Culp, in Tumbleton, Alabama. Chuck was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and loved to sing in the choir. He was also a member of the Brown’s Cross Road Masonic Lodge for 60 years, located in Alabama, and the Lake City York Rite Shriners for 48 years.
Chuck and Barbara have lived in Lake City for 62 years since transferring to Aero Corporation as a CPA in 1961. After 28 years, Chuck started working at the Department of Florida Prison System, as a Supervisor of Accounting and retired from the State of Florida in 1999.
Chuck loved the outdoors and spent his free time hunting and fishing. He also loved to coach little league baseball so that younger children could participate in sports after school.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Barbara Hanna, a daughter, Denise (Robyn), and two sons, Mark (Suzanne) and Michael (Pamela); two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Hanna will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 26, in the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Tumbleton, Alabama with Pastor Joey Pettis officiating. Local arrangements are handled by Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, FL.
