Damon Fernandez, age 56, born on February 1, 1968, in Tampa, Florida, to Sylvia and James Fernandez, passed away, leaving a legacy of love, intelligence, and deep faith. The youngest of six, he was known for his sharp mind, devotion to family, and enduring love for his brothers and sisters. From a young age, he was captivated by RC cars, a passion that grew into a lifelong love for racing—especially IndyCar and Formula One. He also enjoyed fishing in Florida’s northeast inlets and found peace caring for his home, spending time with his beloved wife, and swimming in his pool. His three children were his pride and joy. His memory lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared so generously.
He is survived by his wife, rhoda and his three children , Brianna (Josh), Gydeon and Reagan. His three grandchildren, Lilleigh Adeline and Bentley. His brothers and sisters, Diana Rumph, Karen Mayhew (Tim), Shirley Sands, James Fernandez II ( Erin) and David Fernandez. Also, many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, James E. Fernandez.
A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Fernandez will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, October 15th in the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Guerry Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with service arrangements.
