Mr. Daniel Ray Jordan, age 68, of Lake Butler, Florida passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, in the HCA Florida Lake City Hospital, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Jordan was born in the Mason city area of Columbia County and resided in Lake Butler, Florida for the past 40 years. He was employed as a game warden with the Florida Wildlife Commission for many years until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the Hopeful Baptist Church, Lake City, Fla., a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1972 and a member of the Brown Steel Hunting Club of Providence, Fla. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time in the Smoky Mountains and at Vilano Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus P. and Celia Perry Jordan. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Vernie Jordan of Lake Butler, Florida; his daughter, Cindy (Justin) Dansby of Lake City, Florida; his son, Jonathan (Jennifer) Jordan of Lake City, Fla.; his step-daughter, Denese Wethy of Lake Butler, Florida; one brother, Perry (Donna) Jordan of Melrose, Florida; three grandchildren, Hunter Jordan, Anna Dansby and Luke Jordan also survive. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:45 P.M. Sunday, Dec. 4, in the Eliam Cemetery, Melrose, Florida with Rev. Dale Dansby, Pastor of the Branford Church of God, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday, Dec. 3, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
