Ms Debra Kay Gainey, 50, of Macclenny, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Baker County and was a graduate of Baker County High School class of 1980. Ms Gainey was a daughter to the late J.D. Gatlin and Frances Wilkerson Gatlin Crews. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and retired after 15 years, from the North East Florida State Hospital, in November of 2011. Ms Gainey was raised in the Church of Christ and enjoyed reading, sewing, playing video games and traveling to the mountains. She was preceded in death by her father, Jeff Crews, 2004, her husband, Johnny Gainey, 2002 and one brother, Lamar Crews, 2011.
Survivors include her son, Shaun Gainey, Macclenny; one brother, David Gatlin, Macclenny; one sister, Marilyn Turk, Macclenny; four grandchildren; four nephews; and two nieces also survive.
Memorial services for Ms Gainey will be Monday, October 8, 2012 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hilliard officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 5-6:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of GUERRY Funeral Home, Macclenny.
