Deloris Lairsey Scheu (Miss Dee) born December 11, 1936,
Dee Scheu went home to heaven to be with her loving husband James Scheu and her beloved daughter, Faye Hale, on February 24, 2016 at her home in Lake City, Florida with her daughters, grand-daughters, and sister by her side. Dee was born in Ashburn, GA., on December 11, 1936. Preceded in death by her parents Samuel David Lairsey and Sinnie Lairsey of Thomasville, Ga. She is the beloved mother of Deb Ash (Art Ketcham), Sherry Strickland all of Lake City, Florida. Loved by many including sisters, Peggy Price of Fayetteville, NC. and Dean Manning of Thomasville, GA., and sisters and brothers that have gone to heaven before her waiting for her arrival. Dee loved to have fun, fish, and looked forward to her yearly trips to North Carolina to visit her sister and her trips to Thomasville to visit with family. She worked for many years for Holliday Inn and Sonny’s BBQ. She is Known by many as “Crazy Granny” and Momma” She has six grand-children, Amanda Hale Marsh, Christina Lee Ash, Robbie Ash, Terri Renae Shea, Sharon Washington, Audrey Strickland and Seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Dee also had many special friends including Lona Zellar, Marry and Robert Hockett and Wendall Richardson and many, many more. She will be missed, but will remain in our heats forever. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Mrs. Scheu’s residence located at 121 SE Hubble Street Lake City, FL. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 28, 2016 in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Burial will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 29, 2016 at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, GA.
