Donald Wayne Anderson

Mr. Donald Wayne Anderson, a twenty-two-year Columbia County resident, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born February 22, 1941, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada to the late Donald and Ellen Middlemiss Anderson. Mr. Anderson graduated from the University of Massachusetts, receiving an associate’s degree in 1962 and in 1966 graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree. In 1996 he retired from Allstate insurance, having been a district sales manager. During his retirement years Mr. Anderson was employed locally by Guerry Funeral Home from 2005-2014. He was a member of Spirit of Christ Lutheran Church in Lake City and the Masonic Lodge in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada. His survived by his wife: Judith Rauch Anderson of Lake City; stepchildren: David Warner Young and Dawn Young (Daniel) DeRocher. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Anita Sandra Buchanan. Details regarding a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. The Anderson family requests donations be made to either Haven Hospice or Lustgarten Foundation for cancer research. Guerry Forbes Funeral Home of Lake City is honored to serve the Anderson family.
