Doris Juanita Kerce

Mrs. Doris Juanita Kerce, 76 of Lake City passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011. A native of Live Oak, Florida, Mrs. Kerce was a daughter to the late Josh Casteen and Louise Clayton Casteen Weeks. Mrs. Kerce moved to Lake City in 2008 from Lake Alfred, Florida where she had lived for forty years. When able she enjoyed dancing, crocheting and cooking. Mrs. Kerce was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Ray Kerce in 2002 and one grandson, Tommy Ray Brown in 1995.

Mrs. Kerce is survived by three daughters, Belinda Brown (Tommy), Winter Haven, Cindy Fulford (Larry) and Julie Atkins (Ben) both of Lake City, three sons, J.C. Kerce, Winter Haven, Ronnie Kerce (Rhonda), Lakeland and Barney Kerce, Auburndale. One sister, Bernice Greene (Oscar), Lake City, twelve grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kerce will be conducted on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Bishop Doyle Williams officiating and a eulogy by Mrs. Ruth Law. Interment will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Union County with Mr. Wayne Law dedicating the grave. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
