Doris I Whitslar

Doris Irene Whitslar, 85, went to be with our lord, September 4, 2016, after a long illness at Haven Hospice in Lake City.  She was born on April 21, 1931 in Canton, Ohio to Walter E. Rusher (deceased) and Hilda Rusher (Procter) (deceased).  Doris’ education was from certificates and life learning she had worked in the restaurant business to a CNA in a retirement home.  She would help anyone she could.  Doris was very proud to feed anyone that needed a meal.  Doris was a member of the Branford United Methodist Church. Thanksgiving was Doris’ wonderful time of year to feed people at her home and given food baskets at her church.  She is survived by her brother Don Loye Rusher, who resides in Ohio, six sons, Wayne Foxx in Arizona, Fred Whitslar lll in Lake City, FL, Harry Whitslar in Tampa, FL, Frank Whitslar in Lake City, FL and Daniel and James Whitslar in Branford, FL and three daughters, Catherine Newby in Lake City, FL, Patti Blevins in Lake City, FL and Doris Whitslar in Branford, FL.  She had 22 grandchildren, 23great grandchildren and and 8 great-great grandchildren, 2 nephews, 1 niece.  Doris was preceded by her husband Fred Whitslar Jr., Grandparents John and Ida Rusher and Clarence and Rose Procter.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Branford United Methodist Church, 405 NW Express Street, Branford, FL with Pastor Tim Blanton Officiating.
