Dorothy Jean Shepard

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Shepard, age 82, of Lake City, Florida died Sunday, April 1, in the Lake City Medical Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. She was born in Fisherdale, Pennsylvania and resided in Glen St. Mary, Florida for thirty years before moving to Lake City, Florida five years ago. She worked as an aircraft assembly mechanic with Aero Corp., Lake City, Florida for over 25 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Macclenny, Florida and loved gardening and taking care of her kittens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Warren Shepard and her parents, Howard Daniel and Kathryn Grace Goitshall Mensch. She is survived her three sons, Richard Hartman, Timothy (Karin) Hartman and Thomas Hartman all of Lake City, Florida: Three step-sons, Russell Shepard of Clearwater, Florida, Donald Shepard of Burkburnett, Texas and Steven Shepard of Oklahoma: one step-daughter, Debra Everard of Virginia: Two sisters, Doris Smith of Catawissa, PA. and Judy Mowery of Light Street, PA.: one grandchild also survives. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Shepard will be held at 3 P.M. Friday, April 6, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Florida. Services will be officiated by Russell Shepard. Visitation and gathering with the family will be 2 to 3 P.M.
