Doyle Cecil Cason

Mr. Doyle Cecil Caso , age 76, of Lake City, Fla. died Monday, Mar. 7, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Fla. following an extended illness. He was born in Union County near the community of Lulu, Fla. and had resided in Lake City since 1972. He was the son of the late Cecil Dicks Cason and Gladys Williams Cason. He worked as a district circulation manager with the Florida-Times Union newspaper for over 35 years until his retirement in 2001. he was a member of the Lulu Baptist Church, a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, other memberships include the Elks Lodge #893, Moose Lodge #624, V.F.W., Lake City Shrine Club, American Legion and the Kiwanis Club all of Lake City, Fla. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose M. Cason of Lake City, Fla.: Two daughters, Terri (Scott) Blocker of McAlpn, Fla. and Fleicia (Jack) Larson of Macclenny, Fla.: Two sons, Tony (Linda) Cason of White Springs, Fla. and Jay Cason of Lake City, Fla.: Two sisters, Wanda (Kenny) Verneuille of Piney Flats , Tenn. and Barbara Ann (Dennis) Carpenter of Lake City, Fla.: Eight grand-children and seven great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M., Thursday, Mar. 10, in the Lulu Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Bankston officiating and assisted by Rev. Jackson Cannon. Interment will be in Swift Creek Cemetery, Union County, Fla. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, Mar. 9, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 SW Main Blvd., Lake City, Fla.
