Edgar Crawford

Mr. Edgar Crawford, age 93, of Cuyler, Florida died Sunday, March 15, in the Macclenny Nursing & Rehab, Center, Macclenny, Florida following a long illness. He was born and raised in Taylor and spent all of his life there. He graduated from Taylor High School in 1943 and continued his education at the University of Florida. He taught school for many years and became Superintendent of Baker County schools from 1953 to 1957. He then worked for many years as a social worker for the Florida Department of Human Resources until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arch and Annie Stone Crawford and six siblings, Mildred Brinkley, William H. Crawford, Wade Crawford, Arch Crawford, Jr., Gene Crawford and James Crawford. Mr. Crawford is survived by 19 nieces and nephews and other extended family members. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, March 19, in the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Crawford, Pastor, officiating and assisted by Rev. Arnold Johns. Interment will be in North Prong Cemetery, Baker County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 8 P.M., March 18, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.
