Mrs. Edna Mae “Nannie” Hancock, age 83, of Lake City, Florida died Sunday, June 29, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Fla. following an extended illness. She was born in Statenville, Georgia and had resided in Lake City, Fla. since 1940. She worked for Dr. Jose Goyenechea in Lake City for many years and then became a charge nurse with Lake Shore Hospital, Lake City, Fla. for many years until her retirement. She was a graduate of the School of Nursing at Lake City Community College. She enjoyed being a guidance counselor for many friends, loved cooking and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Bardin) Summerall of Lake City, Fla.: Her son, Emory Alford of Lake City, Fla.: Two grandchildren, Leila (Danny) Harrington of High Springs, Fla. and Dylan Adams of Bloomington, Ind.: Two great-grandchildren, Callie Harrington and John Harrington: Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 2, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Steele, Pastor of Huntsville Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, Fla. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, July 1, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
