Mrs. Edna Ruth Pitts, age 90, of Macclenny, Fla. died Saturday, Oct. 26, at the home of her daughter in Patterson, Ga. following a long illness. She was born in Ellis, Mississippi and lived in Jacksonville, Fla. for over thirty years before moving to Macclenny, Fla. in 1994. She worked as an accountant with State Farm Insurance Company, Jacksonville for 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Macclenny, Fla. and a former member of the Red Hat Society of Macclenny. She enjoyed reading books and watching college football. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Vinnie Dye Robertson and her late husband, F. Earl Pitts. She is survived by two daughters, Fann Peace of Patterson, Ga. and Janet (Gene) Chesser of Callahan, Fla.: One son, Erald (Kim) Pitts of Jacksonville, Fla.: Special niece, Cheryll Robertson: Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Dr. Edsel M. Bone, Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Baker County, Fla. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday (One hour before services) at Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, Fla.
