Elaine C Carey

Mrs. Elaine C. Carey, age 77, of Glen St. Mary, FL passed away Tuesday, February 1st  at Memorial Hospital Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Carey was born in Valdosta, GA and moved to Glen St. Mary, FL in 1954 where she lived out the rest of her life. Mrs. Carey was a member of First Baptist Church of Macclenny for many years and was the pianist there for as long as she could attend. Mrs. Carey is preceded in death by her parents, Lennell M. and Mary F. Owens Cushman, and her loving husband of 36 years, Clyde Wayne Carey. She is survived by her son, Wendell (Ruthia) Crews of Glen St. Mary, FL.; One Step-son, David Carey of Macclenny, FL.; One brother, Jack (Mary) Cushman of Glen St. Mary, FL.; One sister, Nelda (David) Crews of Macclenny, FL.; Two grandsons, Cody Crews and Adam Carey.; One Granddaughter, Christy Crews and one Great-grandson, Cole Wyatt Crews. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Carey will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 4 in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, FL.  With Rev. David Thomas of Christian Fellowship Temple officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. (one hour before services) at the funeral home. Guerry Funeral Home, US 90 E., Macclenny, FL has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. In Lieu of Flowers the family asks you make a donation the local Veterans administration of Baker County or any Veterans association of your choosing.
