Mr. Elijah Dennis Douglas, age 83, of Bell, Florida died Sunday, Feb. 22, in the Haven Hospice Tri-County Care Center, Chiefland, Florida following an extended illness. He was born in Bell, Florida and lived in Fort White and O’Brien, Florida before moving back to Bell, Fla. seven years ago. He worked as a truck driver with Anderson-Columbia, Lake City, Florida for over thirty years until his retirement. He was a member of the Bell Baptist Church, Bell, Florida. He loved fishing in the Sante Fe and Suwannee rivers and also enjoyed working in his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie Conner Douglas and two children, Glenda Allen Douglas and James Dennis Douglas. He is survived by his wife, Robbie Lee Douglas of Bell, Florida: His daughter, Sandra (Terry) Lee Zimmerman of Bell, Florida: His son, Ronald Leslie Douglas of Bell, Florida: Two brothers, Ralph Johnnie Douglas and Orion Douglas both of Ft. White, Florida: One sister, Margaret Petty of Chiefland, Florida: Two grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday, Feb. 26, in the Bell Cemetery, Bell, Florida with Rev. Paul Watson officiating. Gathering and visitation with the family will be from 3 to 4 P.M.
