Mrs. Elizabeth Rewis Combs, age 78, of Taylor, Florida, died Saturday, July 28, in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, Florida, following an extended illness. Mrs. Combs was born in Macclenny, Florida, and had resided in the Taylor community of Baker County for almost 50 years. She worked in the cafeteria of Westside Elementary School and then retired from the dietary department of Northeast Florida State Hospital, Macclenny, Florida, after 20 years of service. She attended The Taylor Church, Taylor, Florida, and loved reading, doing word searches, and watching western movies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Eldred Combs, Sr.; two children, Willie Combs, Jr. and Laura Davis; her parents, Harry and Ella Wilkerson Rewis; granddaughter, Jessalyn Combs; and her son-in-law, Terry Davis, Sr. She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Sue (Fred) Harris and Janice (Terry) Davis both of Taylor, Florida; two sons, Steven Craig (Louise) Combs and Randy Combs both of Taylor, Florida; one sister, Deloris Crews of Macclenny, Florida; two brothers, Ronald Rewis and Melvin Rewis both of Macclenny, Florida; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Rewis will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 31, at the graveside in the Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Florida, with Brother Mark Woods, Pastor of The Taylor Church, officiating. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
