Elizabeth Marlene Holmes

Mrs. Elizabeth Marlene Holmes, 42 of Glen St. Mary, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was born in Jacksonville to the late Jack S. Hinson, Sr. and Madeline Virginia Croft Hinson and had lived all of her life in Baker County. Marlene was of the Baptist faith and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping on the Suwannee River and cheering for her favorite NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart.

Survivors include her husband, James E. Holmes, Glen St. Mary; one son, Joshua Preston Smith, Jacksonville; two daughters, Jennifer Alice Smith, Macclenny and Amber Marie Smith, Orange Park; three brothers, Jack S. Hinson, Jr., Moniac, GA, William Edward Hinson, Lake Butler and John David Hinson, Cuyler; one sister, Sharon Elaine Parrish, Macclenny; three grandchildren and a fourth grandchild due this year, Kaddy Elizabeth Smith and Emily Minuette Smith both of Macclenny and Brookelynn Rosalea Smith, Jacksonville.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8:00 PM Monday evening.
