Mrs. Ellen Loree Byrd, age 79, of Macclenny, Fla. died Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center, Macclenny, Fla. following a long illness. She was born in Archer, Fla. and lived in Florence, S.C. before coming to Macclenny in 1974. She worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years, having positions at McCloud Hospital, Florence, S.C., Methodist Hospice, Alachua General Hospital and North East Florida State Hospital, Macclenny, Fla. She was a member of the Road to Calvary Church, Glen St. Mary, Fla. and was a graduate of the University of Florida School of Nursing in 1952 and did post graduate work at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md. in 1953. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Burley Harold Byrd. She is survived by her daughter, Bettye Burlea Byrd of Macclenny, Fla.: Her son, Thomas Alan "Tab" Byrd of Taylor, Fla.: One sister, Betty R. Thomas of Macclenny, Fla.: Her niece, Martha Rain of Macclenny, Fla.: Two great nieces, Lynn Rain and Dodie Ryder: One great nephew, Randy Rain. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, Dec. 16, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Anderson, Pastor of the Road to Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Manntown Cemetery, Glen St. MAry, Fla. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 P.M. sunday (One hour before services) at Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, Fla.
