Mr. Elmus “Bud” Davis, Sr., age 76, of Sanderson, Florida died Tuesday, March 20, 2012. He was born on January 12, 1936 to the late Albert (Birdie) Davis and Pearl Raulerson Davis. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County. He was a lifelong member of the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church. He is a retired millwright union worker of local #241 of Jacksonville, Fla. for 41 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #122 of Sanderson, Fla. for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family which he loved above all. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and farmer which remains his legacy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley Canaday Davis of Sanderson, Fla.; His children, Rita F. Davis, Richard (Sharon) Davis, Elmus (Carolyn) Davis, Jr., Jerry (Cheryl) Davis, Cindy (Eddy) Sanders and Scott (Lori) Davis; Sisters, Pearly Shumate and Alice Roaldsen; Brothers, Carlton (Margie) Davis and Preston (Mirian) Davis all of Sanderson, Fla.; 23 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews which he loved. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, March 24, in the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Eddy Sanders, Pastor of Cornerstone Congregational Methodist Church, officiating and assisted by Rev. Tim Alford. Interment with Masonic Rites will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Baker County, Fla. Visitation will be from 6-10:00 P.M. Friday, March 23, at his church.
