Ms. Elsie M. Loyd, age 87, of Baldwin, Florida, passed away Friday, Jan. 29, in the St. Vincent's Medical Center Southside, Jacksonville, Florida, following an extended illness. Funeral services for Ms. Loyd will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Baldwin United Methodist Church, Baldwin, Florida. She was born on September 12, 1928 and had resided in Baldwin the past 70 years. She was actively involved in the local community government and was quite the business woman with several successful businesses. She enjoyed her lunches weekly with the Senior Citizen Gang and the wonderful friends she had at the Center, many trips to Biloxi, MS, her girlfriends from Jacksonville Beach and, of course, her cat Simon. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Loyd and son, Carl M. Loyd. She is survived by one son, James R. Loyd and her daughters, Ann L. Richardson (Skip) and June L. Lundy; six grandchildren, Brett Richardson (Molly), Kristen Richardson, Alexandra Lundy, Ashton Lundy, Amy Saxon (Tim), Stacey Starling (Bill) and four grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will share a time with friends and loved ones at Guerry Funeral Home, 420 E. Macclenny Ave, Macclenny, FL on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
