Emily Christen Martinez

Mrs. Emily Christen Martinez, age 32, of Folkston, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 26, in the South Georgia Health System-Brunswick Campus, Brunswick, Georgia following a short illness. Mrs. Martinez She was born in Gainesville, Florida and resided in Lake City, Florida most of her life until moving to Folkston, Georgia one year ago. She worked as assistant manager of the Dollar Tree Store in Folkston, Georgia for the past year. She attended the Pine Grove Baptist Church, Lake City, Florida and loved arts and crafts and saving coupons for family discounts. She is survived by her husband, Shawn P. Martinez, Sr. of Lake City, Florida; her three children, Zoey Brewer, Shawn Martinez, Ir. and Karmen Roman; her companion, Carlos Rodriguez of Folkston, Georgia; her mother, Tina Burkett of Lake City, Florida; her father, Tim: Gooden of West Virginia; two sisters, Danielle Rowe of Alachua, Florida and Shannon Gooden of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one brother, Joshua Gooden of Dahlonega, Georgia also survives. A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Martinez will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, June 30, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Lake City, Florida with Rev. Richard Rodriguez, Pastor of the Southside Baptist Church, officiating.
