Emma Lou Tew
October 25, 1925 — June 27, 2014
Mrs. Emma Lou Tew, 88 of Macclenny, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital in Macclenny. She was a daughter to the late George Tennyson and Emma Stevens Chesser. Mrs. Tew had lived in Macclenny since 1994 and had previously lived in Washington County, Florida and Callahan, Florida. For seventeen years she was a bookkeeper with the Nassau County School Board and she also had worked for the United States Pentagon in the 1950’s. She attended the First Baptist Church of Callahan, loved to work in her yard and gardening, watching birds and spending time with her family. Mrs. Tew was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald C. Tew and one grandson, Troy Bauler.
Survivors include one son, Douglas L. Tew, St. Petersburg; three daughters, Sharon T. (Malcolm) Adams, Callahan, Nancy T. (Andy) Lee, Hilliard and Karen T. (Gary) Bauler, Clearwater; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Mr. Paul Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday afternoon from 3-5:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Callahan in Callahan, FL.
