Mr. Eugene Herman Pyles, Jr., age 79, of Lake City, Florida passed away on March 24, 2016 at the Serenity Place in the V.A. Medical Center, Lake City, Florida. Mr. Pyles was born in Cario, Georgia moved to Lake City 39 years ago. He served in the military as a Marine during the Korean Conflict. He was a deputy sheriff in Coffee County, Georgia and an auxiliary deputy in Lake City. After that, he was a truck driver for many years until his retirement. He also was a member of the Lake City Masonic Lodge and the Shrine Club. He loved fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and his dogs, Kiki, Taffy and Duke. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He will be missed by many . He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Udeiz Kight, brothers, Joseph and Harold Kight and son, David Pyles. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Francis Ruth Pyles of Lake City, Florida: His children, Jimmy (Sandra) Newell of Alma, Georgia, Margaret (David) Varnes and Scarlett (Eric Deese) Pyles both of Lake City, Florida and Willie (Dawn) Pyles of Arcadia, Florida: Step-son, Richard Moore of Atlanta, Georgia: 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Pyles will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, March 28, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Ogburn, Pastor of Watertown Congregational Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Monday (One hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
